[ABSTRACT] In Brazil, has increased the number of children born before turned thirty-seven weeks of gestation. This aspect has been considered as a complex public health problem, since preterm birth is associated with high rates of child mortality and morbidity, and there may be need for hospitalization of the newborn in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).
