[ABSTRACT] We compare the characteristics of referral, at the beginning of Community psychiatry (year 1985) through its development (year 1998). These reasons was significant in the year 1998 respect at 1985: a) The increase of doctors of Primary Care as main referral. b) The increase of neurotic pathology in detriment of psychotic pathology. c) The increase of referral patients without previous treatment. d) Decrease the percentage of abandonment (increase the adhesion at treatment).
