DESCRIPCIÓN

 Digital health is a recent topic and in the Brazilian context it presents a significant set of possible advantages and challenges that reflect both technological advancement and the country's structural inequalities. From the point of view of advantages, digital innovations have made it possible to expand access to health services, especially in historically underserved regions. Telemedicine, regulated more broadly after the COVID19 pandemic, has become a strategic resource to reduce geographical barriers and optimize the use of specialists, enabling faster screening, follow-up of chronic diseases, and remote monitoring of the elderly and vulnerable populations. In addition, the integration of electronic medical records, interoperability systems, and large-scale data use has the potential to qualify clinical decision-making, strengthen epidemiological surveillance, and support predictive models, contributing to more efficient public policies.  However, these advantages coexist with significant challenges. Inequality in access to the internet and digital devices limits the effectiveness of solutions, especially in the North and Northeast regions and among low-income populations. Gaps persist in technological infrastructure, interoperability between systems, and data standardization, which weakens the continuity of care and hinders the implementation of strategies based on artificial intelligence or advanced data analysis. Another obstacle is the insufficient training of professionals in digital skills, who often use technologies in a restricted way due to low familiarity, work overload or absence of institutional support. Ethical and regulatory aspects, such as the protection of sensitive data, informed consent, and ensuring fairness, require continuous attention, especially after the implementation of the LGPD and in the face of the accelerated growth of private solutions in the sector. The symposium will deal with aspects diversified by the theme, in different parts of Brazil and by the expertise of the guests on digital health in Brazil with its advances at a consistent pace, but in the face of the need for structural investments, coordinated policies and qualified team training, aiming to reduce inequalities, improve infrastructure and strengthen data governance, ensuring that digital transformation is inclusive, secure, and oriented towards meaningful health outcomes.
