Padre protector versus padre persecutorio.

RESUMEN

[ABSTRACT] This article emphasizes how the paternal figure affects during childhood, and also during the later development, the possibility of acceding or not to the recognition of the law. Thus, when the father, through his behaviours and expressions of affection, demonstrates capacity of containment facing the reactions (turbulent or disturbing) carried out by his son, this one will be able to assimilate, and to gradually incorporate, the capacity to self-regulate his impulses. That implies that he can get to realize and to accept, even if it hurts, the existence of a limit to certain desires. On the contrary, when the father responds using maltreatment, far from teaching his son how to relate (in a satisfactory way) with other people and with himself, he takes away from him the possibility to recognize the law as an element capable of structure and regulate human relations, causing at the same time the identification with the aggressor.En el presente artículo se pone de relieve cómo incide la figura paterna durante la infancia, y también durante el posterior desarrollo, en la posibilidad de acceder o no al reconocimiento de la ley. Así, cuando el padre, a través de sus comportamientos y expresiones de afecto, demuestra capacidad de contención frente a las reacciones (turbulentas o perturbadoras) protagonizadas por su hijo, éste estará en condiciones de hacer suya, e ir incorporando, la capacidad autorreguladora de los impulsos. Eso implica que puede llegar a darse cuenta y aceptar, aunque le duela y le pese, la existencia de un límite ante ciertos deseos. Por el contrario, cuando el padre responde a través del maltrato, lejos de enseñar a su hijo a relacionarse (satisfactoriamente) con la gente y consigo mismo, le priva de la posibilidad de reconocer la ley como elemento estructurante y regulador de las relaciones humanas, propiciándose al mismo tiempo la identificación con el agresor.
